ACCESS STATEMENT

We do not currently have disabled accommodation but we anticipate completion late 2007 of a purpose designed ground floor facility. This will be available for use as Bed & Breakfast or self-catering accommodation. The new facility will also be available for use by guests with assistance dogs.
Prior to this we have prepared this document to advise on the accessibility of our existing accommodation. Please contact Jane or David Saxon if you would like any further information or advice regarding the accessibility of our properties.

Moresby Hall entrance hall / reception area
We welcome guests for check-in any time after 4 pm
We are unable to accommodate assistance dogs in the hall or cottages as we have family dogs. Our new facility (see above) will accommodate assistance dogs
There are no steps to the entrance but a small raised ridge (2 inches) from the porch
There are no automatic or revolving doors
There is a seated area in our entrance hall
There is no reception desk you will be greeted in person by one of the owners
There is a portable induction loop available on request
The floor is tiled and level
There is a toilet available on the ground floor (ramp access)
Use of a phone can be provided in the entrance hall
The entrance hall is well lit
Doors / corridors are wide enough for wheelchair or Zimmer frame access
Moresby Hall Drawing room and Dining room
There are no steps to the Drawing room / lounge area for guests use
There are no steps to the Dining room for guests use
Provision will be made in both rooms for wheelchair users
Special dietary requirements are catered for on request
There are no lifts
Moresby Hall guest bedrooms (not accessible by wheelchair users)
All bedrooms are on the first floor and are carpeted
The stairs are wide and well lit
The stair tread is not as high as modern stairs (a gentle tread)
Assistance will be given with luggage if required
Assistance will be given with mobility if required
Bedrooms accessible by guests using walking cane or crutches
Agricola bedroom has two steps from the landing into the room
Pekerige, De Asby and Copeland bedrooms have no steps
Agricola (double room) and Copeland (four poster room) have baths en-suite
De Asby (four poster room) and Pekerige (can be twin or double room) have showers (with integral seats)
Bathrooms have tiles or lino
There are no telephones in the bedrooms
We do not have room service but would provide a light breakfast in the room on request

Portable mini fridge for guest bedrooms (suitable for medications)
Use of manual wheelchair during your stay
There is no charge for the use of any of the above items but please arrange in advance, as we currently only have one of each available
In addition, our walled garden area is accessibly to wheelchair users with assistance (gravel covering).
There is good mobile phone coverage
Telephone numbers are available for taxis, doctor, hospital etc

At the time of writing we do not have any adapted bedrooms but provision of our new ground floor unit is anticipated at the end of 2007.
